What we’re about

Are you interested in trying Kundalini Yoga? Relax and unwind while practicing a sequence of postures known as "kriyas" and discover why Kundalini Yoga is commonly known as "the yoga of awareness." This group is for anyone interested in Kundalini Yoga classes and events in the Palo Alto-Menlo Park area.

Regular classes are now being held from 7-8:15 pm at ONE HEART YOGA at Menlo College in the DANCE room.  Please check the ONE HEART YOGA website to confirm their schedule. Classes that include a Kundalini Kriya and meditation are taught by a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher and are donation based. A donation of $11 for zoom attendance and $22 for in-person attendance would be greatly appreciated, if possible. Like us on Facebook and check out our schedule of teachers posted online.

Other Kundalini Yoga Classes will be posted on this site by individual instructors.  These may be "at home" classes, YMCA classes, or classes schedule at other local sites. All of these teachers are certified Kundalini Yoga Instructors and you are encouraged to try these as well, especially if Tuesday evenings don't work for you.

What is Kundalini Yoga? Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® is considered the most comprehensive of yoga traditions, combining meditation, mantra, physical exercises and breathing techniques; it is a Raj Yoga, encompassing the eight limbs of yoga into a singular practice of excellence and ecstasy. “Kundalini” literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.” This poetic metaphor alludes to the flow of energy and consciousness that exists within each of us, and enables us to merge with – or “yoke” – the universal Self. Fusing individual and universal consciousness creates a divine union, called “yoga.” The Upanishads, dating back to the fifth century B.C., describe the kundalini, although the oral tradition reaches back even further into history. For thousands of years, this sacred science and technology was veiled in secrecy, passed along verbally from master to chosen disciple.--description from the Kundalini Research Institute website
