What we’re about
We are here to make new professional friends with an international, progressive attitude. We have university degrees and/or are employed full-time in career jobs. You are looking for the same and for European-style friendships over late afternoon drinks, snacks, and the occasional weekend event. You are at least 35 years old.
We will meet to try out great speakeasys, bars, cafes, and restaurants in the Pasadena, Eagle Rock, and Highland Park areas. We love funky "secret bars," quality drinks and venues, etc. We are busy professionals, so we will typically not meet for lunches, brunches, hikes, and the like. We discuss world events, crack jokes, exchange information about recommended movies, venues, etc.
We never do seated dinners as we prefer to mingle and come and go as we please. We always pay on individual checks, so do not fear the big group tabs that are always too difficult to figure out and always seem to become really expensive.
In other words: this is the European-style Pasadena social group! We meet just to meet. We don't have to have a bigger purpose all the time. Socializing is great in and of itself.
(The vast majority of us are Democrat-leaning, but we of course also enjoy talking with our Republican friends. We do, however not enjoy anti-vaxx, conspiracy theory and pro-Trump discussions. There are other groups for that. We are not those people.
If you sign up and repeatedly don't show up, I may remove you from the group. I am also likely to remove members without real names and/or sexually provocative pictures. We are not that group).
