What we’re about
Join us for discussions about Doctor Who!
This group veers into Wibbly-Wobbly-Timey-Wimey stuff as we discuss this 60+ year old fantastic show!
This group regenerated from our prior one of 2+ years. Previously meetings were exclusively on Zoom - and online events will remain so, Pacific Time, Monday evenings - but we added more in-person themed meetups in the LA/OC area such as at the Disneyland Resort. In both event types we’ll talk about specific episodes/stories that you’d view prior to the event, general discussion topics such as characters, plots, themes explored in Doctor Who. Or whatever you choose! This will be your group and is open to suggestions (we’ve a list from all members in the past 3 years with room for more). And with the show’s debut on Disney+, this group would like to be accessible to brand-new viewers too. Naturally, we mesh and crossover well with our sci-fi, gaming, cosplay, comics/novel, Disney peers. #UNITweTrust
All humans and extraterrestrials/surviving Time Lords may apply! But this is also a safe space (though we had to convince Cmdr. Strax that the word "Club" had multiple meanings). No harassing anyone nor repeat no-shows without canceling lest you get banished into the Void (not joking). Family-friendly though attendees under age 18 must have a guardian with them.

Join us in your "Sunday Best" at Dapper Day in Disneyland Park!
Here's your chance to "step out in style" at the biannual unofficial event! Though costumes/cosplay are frowned upon, the Doctors and their companions were mostly attired in Earth fashion… who will question if you're similarly dressed? 😉😉 As there’s no Galliday event this year, we’ll pick up the baton/screwdriver. And we'll try to find the Navarino 1950s Club (pictured above, they look so happy!).
Tickets/reservations may be purchased via the Disneyland Resort site (note apparel restrictions there): https://disneyland.disney.go.com or discounted tix via the Dapper Day site/newsletter – then support them by attending their Boutique, of course - https://dapperday.com/pages/fall-2024-disneyland-resort?srsltid=AfmBOooP1YNNGGcLFSrfOvqY9fl3m0N_Hlo5FaUtD09_xBLC0cFnsSQ9 You still need to make a park reservation via the DLR site even if a ticket is purchased off-site or if you have a Magic Key.
Since some of us may only have a 1-day/1-park Disneyland Park pass, we'll primarily meet on that side (and not Disney California Adventure). And as in the past, this will be a cross-Meetup with the Disneyland Fan Club (we're helping out the host, after hours) so sign up there too! Specific meeting details, etc to be updated on this page/comments later.
We’ll also visit Black Spires Outpost on planet Batuu (the Disneyland app converts your phone into a limited Vortex Manipulator). Be like ultimate tourist Donna Noble, show everyone how to interact with species from other worlds!
And we’ll pay respects to Murray from Nostalgia Trips and his passengers who never made it to Disneyland in 1959. 😢
- Life Day Celebration in Disneyland ParkDisneyland Park, 1313 Disneyland Dr, Anaheim, CA 92802, Anaheim, CA
Join us to celebrate Life Day on Batuu!
This joyous holiday celebrating family originated with the Wookiees on Kashyyyk and involved feasting and a journey to their Tree of Life. Life orbs and red robes were signature features of this occasion!
There was even a vid shown for a brief time on the HoloNet chronicling the Wookiee Chewbacca’s efforts (along with his human) to return home and celebrate the day! Sadly no official copies exist now, censored by the Galactic Empire apparently.
But after the fall of the Empire, the holiday and festivities including singing songs were often assimilated into other cultures! Thus we’ll travel to Black Spires Outpost on Batuu (instead of Kashyyyk, fauna there too dangerous this time of year) where the holiday is observed after the Batuuan Harvest Festival. Interestingly, Jedi Knights and Padawans as well as Sith Lords (yes, >2) are all keen to celebrate there together!
You as (surviving) Time Lords and Earth companions will attire in your representative clothing - provided you adhere to the guidelines set forth by Star Tours and its parent corporation https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/parks/dressLife day globes are encouraged – if Black Spires Outpost runs out, Kerblam! subsidiary Amazon sells some for $10-12 - but we’ll leave the wearing of red Wookiee robes up to you.
Knowledge of Shyriiwook is not necessary – though TARDIS translation circuits still seem to have trouble with it, Batuu natives can translate for us!For our meeting point, you must purchase a Disneyland Park ticket or have a Magic Key pass – and make a Disneyland Park reservation for Nov 17 – in order to attend.

This event will cross-Meetup with the Disneyland Fan Club. In addition to DW, you may also Star Wars-bound with us. But if you defer either attire type, that's OK! You may feel more comfortable signing up with the DFC Meetup event instead.
