What we’re about
Welcome to the Philadelphia Area Horror Meetup Group! If you're a fan of all things spooky, this is the group for you. We'll explore the world of horror books and graphic novels, watch horror anime and dark sci-fi, attend horror events, enjoy watching horror movies in theaters together and anything else we can find!
Let's gather together, discover hidden horror gems, and share our love for the genre. From thrilling classics to upcoming releases, we'll explore all facets of horror and enjoy spine-tingling entertainment in the Philadelphia area and surrounding suburbs.
Whether you're a seasoned horror geek or just curious about the genre, come and meet fellow enthusiasts who share your passion for the macabre.
Meetups will be in person in various locations both in Philly and surrounding suburbs, as well as virtually through a Discord server I have created! Get ready for a horrifically good time!
Please sign up for our Philadelphia Area Horror Group Discord Server! Here we can meet up and chat about horror, share info/opinions on movies, have virtual movie night and more.

Pack up your drinks and snacks and bring some friends for a dreamy evening in our glittering mosaicked space! Find a place to picnic and enjoy a live performance by Xemi in our sparkly courtyard. A Philly native, Xemi is a vocalist and musician specializing in merging the electronic and acoustic worlds of music.
Head over to our craft tables where Teaching Artist Caro Thomas will help us create custom tote bags using the historic cyanotype printing process. Cyanotypes, invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel and famously used by botanist Anna Atkins to document plant specimens, create stunning white silhouettes against deep prussian blue backgrounds through a light-sensitive chemical process that reacts to UV light. In this workshop, you’ll learn this traditional “sun printing” technique while drawing inspiration from the Magic Gardens’ intricate and bold mosaics. No previous experience necessary – each participant will leave with their own unique cyanotype tote bag and the knowledge to continue exploring this captivating art form at home!
Attendees can also enjoy self-guided tours of our rarely-seen mosaicked basement, and can view our current exhibition, Of Earthen Kin: Works by Katie Kaplan.
