What we’re about

If you enjoy discussing the 'big questions' in life, you’ll love this group.

We meet fortnightly in a pub in the Tunbridge Wells area to discuss a particular philosophy topic (previously agreed by group members), just for enjoyment, to have a challenging discussion, and for intellectual stimulation. Recent topics include ‘Clothes’, ‘Time’, ‘Freedom’, ‘What is a Good Life’, and ‘Numbers'.

We have a table at the pub for six, which reflects current attendee numbers, although we'd be happy to grow. Meetings are free of charge, although discussion over dinner (paid for individually) makes a good social occasion, and is fair on the pub.

No academic background or previous experience is necessary, just a passion for enquiry and interesting debate.

Our main rules are:
- DO NOT BE A NO-SHOW. IF YOU SIGN UP, TURN UP
- RESPECT OTHERS AND THEIR OPINIONS
- FOR SAFETY REASONS, PUT UP A RECOGNISABLE PHOTO OF YOUR FACE.
