What we’re about
Dedicated to those photographers who like to connect with other photographers to share one another's work and attend photography outings.
This group is for people serious about the pursuit of photography. It is for people who want to grow and develop their skills and are receptive to learning from one another. You should have experience and know the fundamental principles of photography.
Although you don't have to be an advance photographer, you should demonstrate a sincere and serious interest in photography.
"When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice."
Robert Frank

See all- Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga - UpdateTherapeutic Horses of Saratoga, Saratoga Springs, NY
I have confirmation that I can bring a photography group to Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga on January 17th at 2:00 p.m. This organization offers equine therapy to persons with mental health challenges, veterans, and other events. We will have a host who will explain the program while we take pictures. Please note that these are all retired race horses.
There is a $20.00 donation to attend this event which can be given at the event. I'm told the horses will be outside so of course dress accordingly. The link above will take you to their website where you can learn more about the organization and the horses.
I have agreed to send them a collection of our images so will want to get a couple from each of you after our event. I will collect them and send as a group.
Apparently they are some fantastic views on the farm for sunset! Our host has encouraged us to stay to watch it. There is an outdoor porch with table and chairs where we can see the sunset. You may wish to bring a thermos with a hot beverage. Let's hope for good weather. If weather is bad, I will need to reschedule but definitely will.
Please note that we cannot take pictures of any clients due to confidentiality rules. I don't expect any to be there but just want you to be aware. I'm so excited about this event.
I will send instructions as to where we will gather.
I am going to try to identify a place for dinner after for those interested. TBD
- "Picture This: A Sharing Session for Photographers"Needs location
Welcome once again to a photographic rendezvous where you will enjoy visual masterpieces from your fellow shutterbugs!
We are happy to share that we are devoting another evening to share our favorite images with one another. Pick the three images you most want to share. Does your image tell a story? Does it showcase your skills? Is it a great composition? You decide! This is not a competition but rather, an opportunity to be "seen". Please be prepared to tell us just a little about why you choose that particular image.
Our gathering will take place at the Clifton Park Library We will be meeting in the Piracci Board Room on first floor near entrance. Please bring a snack or beverage to share.
Send your three (please no more than three) images to Jason Young at jayoung525@gmail.com and doggoat@msn.com by .January 10. Jason (Jay) will compile these images for sharing on a big screen at the library that night.
This is sure to be a fun meeting and a great opportunity to socialize with fellow photographers!
We will be setting up between 5:30 - 6:00
- Christman SanctuaryStuyvesant Plaza, Albany, NY
A highlight of the Christman Sanctuary is the Bozenkill, with its 30-foot waterfall and numerous lesser cascades. We will hike less than a 1/2 mile to these falls from the parking lot. I've long wanted to see these falls in winter. You MUST have microspikes and a pole to do this short hike. There is a short but somewhat steep descent to the falls and will be slippery in winter. Dress warm and bring hand warmers. We will meet at Stuyvesant Plaza and park in front of Bountiful Bread. There is very limited parking there and we will need to carpool depending on how many people sign up. I will check if it is even plowed in winter once we get some snow. We will spend a couple of hours there and have lunch at Bountiful Bread when we return.
Meet 9:30 - Stuyvesant Plaza, 1475 Western Ave., Albany NYChristman Sanctuary: [Location of Christman Sanctuary](3281 Schoharie Tpke, Delanson, NY 12053)
PS. I also posted this on the Photography connection FB page. Please sign up here too. Sorry for any confusion.
