What we’re about
Dedicated to those photographers who like to connect with other photographers to share one another's work and attend photography outings.
This group is for people serious about the pursuit of photography. It is for people who want to grow and develop their skills and are receptive to learning from one another. You should have experience and know the fundamental principles of photography.
Although you don't have to be an advance photographer, you should demonstrate a sincere and serious interest in photography.
"When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice."
Robert Frank

It has been such a fun adventure to share Abby's growth as a photographer over these past few years. So happy to see her first exhibit with Saratoga Arts at the Country Corner Cafe. She has a wonderful collection of photographs to see. I'm also proud to say I was with her when she took a couple of these images.
Come join me for breakfast at the Country Corner Cafe and support the work of a fellow photographer.
Check it out at : Abagail Bernard photography - Saratoga Arts
If you can't make it then, her work will be there from now until end of December.

I just saw this post from Nathan Farb about an upcoming film about the work of Nathan Farb. He is the photographer that inspired me to become a photographer. "The captivating portrait of a photographer's journey through the vibrant New York of '68, a Russian society on the brink of war, and the majestic Adirondack Mountains." His work is phenomenal. Tickets are not on sale yet but I will follow this.
For those interested we can go to dinner afterwards.Palace Theatre Lake Placid: Palace Theatre 2430 Main St, Lake Placid

This is an amazing place with a wide variety of birds. There are eagles , parrots, owls, and much more. While they are technically closed for the season they are willing to lead us around this sanctuary and tell us stories about these birds. There are still several eagles that are out in the open but many birds are inside now. We will be able to take pictures as well of course. Peter just asks that we share images on Facebook Bird of Paradise on Facebook and help promote the sanctuary. They are building a new website and would like me to send pictures as well. He did not mention a charge as he is technically not open but I'd like us to each provide a $10.00 donation. We will meet there at 1:00 and spend a couple of hours.
After that we will go to the Peace Pagoda that is nearby. This is a temple where we can photograph the sunset (not sure exactly where the sun will be). But before that I thought we could enter the temple and meditate for a short time on world peace thinking about the wars that are so tragic and devastating. It is a beautiful temple and quite remarkable to see. To learn more: Peace Pagoda
Dress for the outdoors in November. Sunset is at @4:30 on this day. If people are interested we can go get a bit to eat afterwards. Thank you.
