The Theme
A change of pace.
We have looked at the political picture. We want to come closer to home; look at the world we live in. Our family, our community, our values, our morals.
The world has changed over the last fifty years. The destruction of the nuclear family, abandonment of religion and God as a foundation to our lives. How can the decline in the standards of behaviour, morality, respect and personal responsibility be explained? Moving away from the Judaeo/Christian foundation of our nation have we outsourced our morality to following the crowd, to fitting in, to being accepted, to the flavour of the day? Do private vices and public virtues rule the day?
A growing number of ideological groups have introduced Marxist ideology in a major way. How has the adoption of the values and aims of that movement sped the destruction of the nuclear family and the rejection and persecution of Christians, Jews and other religious worshippers? What has replaced God? Is politics the new religion as Bishop Sheen predicted years ago? Is it working?
The USA is clearly a country that has broken in two, an almost perfect 50-50 split. Judges do not rule based on the law, but on their political ideology or personal preference. Corruption and maleficence is rampant in Washington. To a great extent the administrative state operates against the people. Opponents are demonized, slandered and attacked. The fifth estate, which should be the protectors of our freedom by keeping our political leaders honest, is more and more a biased voice offering reporting which often hides the truth.
Abraham Lincoln said that a country divided cannot stand. I believe America is living out his vision. Is Canada far behind or, are we already there?
If we are, how can we turn this ship around before we run aground.
