Playtest UK Games Meetup Group

A friendly and informal Playtest Meetup in North London.

Bring along a game to test or just turn up to see what other developers have brought. Play some games, give some feedback, socialise and network with like minded creative-types who love games of all kinds.

There is food and drink services at the Beehive. Please purchase something as they have been kind enough to let us use the premises for free. Thanks

We are a welcoming community of board game designers and playtesters, please join us and bring your games in development for feedback, to play upcoming games, or just to chat about the hobby and industry! We range from first-time designers, hobby designers, published designers, and publishing companies.

We meet every Tuesday at The Ludoquist board game cafe in Croydon, from 6:30pm-10pm. We try to ensure that as many games can be played in an evening, and prioritise those that haven't been able to test their games recently, although we cannot guarantee that your game will be played in the first session you join.

The final meeting of each month is reserved for playing published games. We use this time to catch up on games that we want to try or discuss.

Monthly playtest meetup in Chelmsford

Held at The Orange Tree, 6 Lower Anchor Street, Chelmsford, CM2 0AS

Second Tuesday of every month 1800-2200ish

Attendees are actively encouraged to buy drinks from the bar. There is no food served in the evenings although the board game group we are part of may persuade them otherwise in time.

We need to book tables so YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF THE EVENT otherwise you may be turned away from the playtesting!

Welcome to the Birmingham Playtest UK meetup, hosted at Chance & Counters in Birmingham city centre (or near enough!).

We have a growing number of board game designers in the Birmingham area who need playtesters for their games. This event is for those designers to get together, along with playtesters, and gather feedback on their latest game designs.

----Who is this event for?----

• We welcome anyone to this event:
• If you're a game designer, bring your designs (contact me first to make sure we have space to get your game played!)
• If you're an experienced playtester, we really need your help to make our games even better.
• If you're not an experienced playtester but play board games regularly, we welcome you to join us and learn how games are made.
• If you've never played a board game before, we have games that are easy to learn too!

----What will happen at the event?----
Board game designers will bring along prototype games at various stages of development, some will be handwritten on cards and scraps of paper and some games that look ready to buy.

You'll be able to choose from a number of games to playtest. Just tell us what games you like to play already and we'll find something similar to playtest with you.

Usually, the designer will explain the game rather than ask you to read the rules but this depends on what stage the game is at.

You'll either play the full game or a few rounds depending on what feedback the designer needs and the time we have allocated for the game.

You'll then be asked what you thought of the game in a short debrief session.

This meetup happens on the second Wednesday and final Thursday of every month

----Is there an entry fee?----
The event is FREE for designers and playtesters.

If you want to stay for the rest of the night any play published games from the Chance & Counters board game library you'll need to pay the regular cover charge (£2/hour).

----Anything else I need to know?----
Chance & Counters asks that people don't bring their own food to the site but they serve food on site.

Chance & Counters is less than 10 minutes walk from New Street Station, and has street parking around the area which is free after 6 pm (but always check this yourself!)
