| You are invited to celebrate the induction of Erie Bluffs State Park into the Old-Growth Forest Network on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11 a.m.

A short ceremony will occur followed by a guided hike into the Duck Run Ravine. Wear sturdy shoes and please bring your own water bottle.

Erie Bluffs State Park contains over 430 acres of forest in various stages of growth. The oldest trees grow near the shoreline of Lake Erie, and several are close to state champion status. The tree canopy is species rich, with large red oaks and sugar maple on the edge of the Duck Run Ravine. Other trees present include red maple, black cherry, Eastern hemlock, black oak, American hophornbeam, tulip poplar, sassafras, pignut hickory, bitternut hickory, black locust, and linden.

This marks the 33rd Old-Growth Forest to be inducted into the Network in Pennsylvania!

## Summary

Keystone Trails Association and PA Parks & Forests Foundation join together to offer a day of training for trail maintenance volunteers and organizations engaged in the stewardship of trails and public lands.

Registration is $25/person and includes lunch and all sessions.

Please choose one session from two offered in each of three slots throughout the day then come together for a plenary on volunteerism. There will be plenty of time to network and plenty of resources to find the answers you need to be good volunteers.
