What we’re about
The Great Raleigh Cleanup is a group for people who want to rid the Raleigh area of its litter problem. It’s for those who’ve seen the problem, decided not to blame anyone but instead to do something about it. We meet 3-4 times a mont, most often on Saturdays or Sundays. Our aim is to leave the area 100x better than we found it! Sometimes that means climbing into ditches and streams but safety is always our #1 priority. All cleanups take place within Raleigh unless otherwise clearly noted! Signup even if there is a waitlist. People change their minds all the time.
Quarterly we will have a 'Kid-Friendly' cleanup. These occur on Raleigh greenways and will be clearly noted in the event title. Bring the kiddos out to these.
We also have a program called Adopt the Block. It's perfect for those that are unable to make it out to the group cleanups. We can even hold a cleanup for you and your coworkers. Email with any questions.
Make sure to complete the Event Waiver!
Happy picking!!!
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Stony Brook Trash Trap Cleanout (Small group)Stony Brook Rd, Raleigh, NC
Did you hear that big rain on Wednesday? That means big trash in our trash trap.
Join us this Saturday as we clear out the litter, debris, and plastic that the storm washed downstream. This is our chance to stop all that waste before it spreads into our creeks and harms wildlife.
We’ll gear up with waders, gloves, and grabbers to clean out the trap and surrounding shoreline. No experience needed—just bring your energy and be ready to get a little dirty for a cleaner community.
This one’s best left to the big kids (16+). And we won't need a big grouop. We’ll have all the supplies and safety gear ready for you.
Let’s show that storm who’s boss and get this trash out of here. See you there!
Be sure to complete the event waiver.
Thanks,

Preston - CCUMP Landfill Diversion - Rod StewartCoastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek, Raleigh, NC
Join us at Coastal Credit Union for a landfill diversion event. Our job is to divert as much aluminum as possible from the parking lots and during the post-show pick.
Volunteer shift is for 2 hours but you're welcome to continue longer if you'd like to. We typically start an hour before the opener and go an hour into the opener. Once the shift is done you are able to attend the show from the lawn! Note: This is a late-night event, and you’ll likely smell like beer by the end (comes with the territory).
Start time may vary if the show time gets adjusted. You will park in the employee grass lot.
Do not ask Live Nation staff for entrance—they are not involved with volunteer check-in.
Open to volunteers ages 16 and up.
SUMMER REMINDER: It is getting quite hot outside. Please remember to be hydrating throughout the day and the night before a volunteer event. We are outside, in the sun, for a majority of our events. Bring your reusable water bottles and we will have water you can fill them up with. Wear a hat, sunscreen, spf shirt, or whatever else you need to stay safe and cool. No piece of litter is worth your wellbeing!
