Buenas gophers!

Join us for the Golang Meetup in June powered by Kiwi.com. They will be bringing some of their most talented developers as speakers. We will also have pizza, Czech beer and fun games and networking.

Talks:

“Cookiecutting Go” by Jan Gorjanc

Cookiecutter allows developers to quickly bootstrap new projects and start focusing on actual application code. A cookiecut project paves the way for a standardised project layout, best practices and developer productivity. Does it make sense to use Cookiecutters with Go in 2019? We will explore the benefits and drawbacks of such a project and how you can start using Cookiecutters to enhance your dev experience.

“Go in the Serverless world” by Dražen Perić

How to set up and deploy simple Go application to the AWS Lambda by using Serverless framework? What if we want to migrate that same application to the Google Cloud Functions? And what about Cloud Run, how hard is it migrate it there?

You will receive some basic knowledge about Go applications in serverless world and about Serverless framework, while everything will be covered with code examples.

“Binding C++ to Golang” by Jan Plhák

The ecosystem of Go has grown significantly over the past few years. Great variety of libraries and open-source projects are now freely available to the Golang developer which makes Golang an ideal general-purpose performant language. Due to its relative youth and other reasons, however, it doesn't offer that many options when it comes to writing algorithmically/computationally heavy libraries where C/C++ is still being the standard go-to language. For that reason, I'll show how to leverage the power and versatility of C/C++ in Golang by binding C/C++ libraries to Go by using its native binding mechanisms.

Duration of each talk: 20 min. + Q&A
Language: English
