***
Land Trust Days is a statewide, 2 month celebration of the many special places protected by land trusts. Land trusts across the state host activities to share the special places they are protecting for everyone, young and old to enjoy. These events include guided walks, hot dog roasts, community festivals, full moon walks, farm tours and a whole lot more.
Please note: some events may require registration outside of MeetUp. Please read event descriptions carefully.
Check out our website for Land Trust sponsored activities. Rhode Island Land Trust Days is a project of the Rhode Island Land Trust Council.
*Please note that events are posted to this group on behalf of land trusts across Rhode Island. The members of this group generally do not 'meet up' officially, but rather attend the events as participants. If you'd like to attend with other members, feel free to coordinate in the discussion sections of events.*

The Rhode Island Land Trust Council is posting this event on behalf of the Richmond Rural Preservation Land Trust. For this event, RRPLT requires that you register directly with them. Registration on Meetup does not confirm your attendance. Please register here.
Join us at the Bradner Preserve trailhead at 10 a.m. for a fun and educational fungal foray! We'll divide into small teams and explore the trails, searching for the diverse fungi that call the preserve home. After about an hour of searching, we'll reconvene at the trailhead to gather around the ID table. There, we’ll share our collections, record our discoveries, and discuss the fascinating fungi we've found.
Please bring water, a light snack for yourself, and bug spray. Wear appropriate clothing to protect yourself from ticks. Children are always welcome but please no pets at this fungal frolic — we would like to focus on the mushrooms!
Please be aware that this is NOT a foraging walk and we are not collecting mushrooms to eat them! This is to document species and their ecology.
Registration is limited to 20 participants. If you sign up and realize you cannot attend, please reach out, so we can give your space to another person.
