Join us as we go and explore Pocahontas state park. Several of us are signed up for the 20-mile Mammoth March at Pocahontas state park in April so we would like to start doing some training hikes prior to the event. You do not have to be signed up for Mammoth March to join us in some fun out in the woods. This hike is available to everyone.

Our pace will be based off of trail conditions but typically a brisk pace.

The goal is to do several of these hikes prior to the Mammoth March while increasing the number of miles we hike as we get closer to the event.

We will be meeting in the big parking lot before you drive down to the boat dock. It is the one by the bathroom and shelter. We will park on the side farthest from the pool and closest to the area you drive to go down to the boat dock.

Pocahontas state park has a $7 park entrance fee during the week and $10 entrance fee on the weekend per car if you do not have a state park pass.

You can purchase a one-year state parking pass that is good for all Virginia state parks for a full year for $85 at the link below.
