What we’re about
Joyful Mind Zen Community supports the practice of Zen for all people. We are a community of people practicing Zen together to relieve suffering in our lives and in the world. We are located in Rockville, Maryland and our community is extended through our online practice.
Our teacher is a Sensei authorized in Soto Zen, having practiced and trained in Zen for over 20 years, serving as guiding teacher and founder of Joyful Mind Zen Community
We welcome newcomers and visitors to practice with us. We also have residential retreats in Germantown, MD, and one-day retreats locally.
Joyful Mind Zendo offers teaching and practice periods to those who are interested in the path of Zen regardless of experience, religious faith or affiliation. We emphasize sitting meditation (Zazen) and support each other in transforming our lives toward more peace, liberation and freedom.
The teachings and practice periods are free to all, donations gratefully accepted. We are a non-profit 501c3 organization. If you have questions, contact us at Information@joyfulmindzendo.org
