Study group for HEMA. We are a satellite club of Youngstown historical fencing https://youngstownhf.com/ focused on longsword but also practicing rapier and messer. We can teach you to fight like a 15th century knight based on the teaching of Johannes Liechtenauer and other authors of his lineage. No experience or equipment necessary, we currently meet every Sunday at 3. Location varies, but is currently Adell Durbin park in stow, complete address is in event details.

We are located at the back parking lot, it’s one driveway south of the main entrance and is shared with the tennis center.

Learn to fight with the two handed sword using writings from the 14th and 15th century sword masters Johannes Liechtenauer and Sigmund Ringeck. No gear or experience required to attend lessons.

The class is split into sections, the first hour is basic fundamentals of swordplay, then more advanced technique drills and open sparring or sparring games until the end of our time.

Sparring and drills available. Loaner swords, fencing masks and complete sets of sparring gear available for those without gear. Must be 18 years old to spar, minors 13+ can receive lessons but only if a parent is present.
