What we’re about

Hi Everyone, We'd like to welcome you to our community based Sahaja Yoga meditations which are ALWAYS FREE!

Each meditation instructor volunteers in the community for our Sahaja non-profit organization and has many years of experience in teaching these wonderful Meditation classes. The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous. The free classes feature introductory talks, videos, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for establishing a state of peace within, and they are available across the LA area most evenings and throughout the US. The idea is that you don't do meditation - meditation is a transformative state of awareness that is your birthright! You will feel at peace and come into balance.

Sahaja Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. This is a group for those interested in turning inwards and connecting with that part of themselves that is eternal and unchanging. The group works towards the establishment of a connection to the spirit within through the awakening of residual inner energy and the state of meditation that results. It helps to reduce stress and increase wellness. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it.

Meditation is not just for mystics and monks. Sahaja is for regular people, too. Anyone can do it. It's that easy. The Sahaja experience, you'll quickly realize, isn't your typical Meditation class. It's much more than just feeling peaceful and relaxed. Sahaja Meditation has many layers, varied and deep. Explore at your own pace, in your own way. And our experts are always available to help.

Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a worldwide movement for peace and self-awakening. All the meetings and classes are free of charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centers) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future.

Occasionally there are 1-day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of well-being.
