What we’re about
San Diego Machine Learning is an active group for AI & data science education and networking. We are machine learning practitioners, students, and enthusiasts who want to get together to share, discuss and try various techniques -- and possibly hack on the occasional challenge. We have a wide range of experience levels with machine learning either through work, school or personal exploration. We currently have a monthly papers & lightning talks event, book clubs, project time, networking, and a mix of other ML events. Everyone is welcome!
For more information about our AI talks and ML book club, please visit our GitHub repositories: https://github.com/SanDiegoMachineLearning/talks and https://github.com/SanDiegoMachineLearning/bookclub

Mathematics for Machine Learning
Linear RegressionDATE CHANGE: This MML book club session has been moved to April 19
We have a book club to discuss the classic Mathematics for Machine Learning. This a fantastic book to learn fundamentals or deepen your understanding of the math that underlies most of ML. A PDF copy of the book is available at https://mml-book.github.io/.
This session will discuss chapter 9. We are past the theory chapters, and this is the first chapter talking about solving real problems. This material stands alone from previous chapters. New people are welcome to join.
Please join us in person or online. To get the most out of this session, try to read the chapter and do the exercises. Come to the meetup with a question.
* Please make sure to read the instructions for joining the event below.
Agenda:
- 12:00 - 1:30 pm -- Discuss chapter and exercises
- Time permitting -- Additional Q&A, networking
Links to notes/slides and videos of prior meetups are available on the SDML GitHub repo https://github.com/SanDiegoMachineLearning/bookclub
