See all- Balboa Park Beginner RideMorley Field Sports Complex, San Diego, CA
Welcome to the Beginner ride at Balboa Park! This group is geared towards new riders getting comfortable with their mountain bike and dirt trails.
All participants need to complete the SDMBA waiver at least once every 6 months. SDMBA Waiver
This is a no-drop, beginner paced ride around some of the best trails Balboa Park has to offer with time to work on some basic skills. The ride is from 5:30pm - 7:00pm, with frequent stops to regroup and to work on skills. Average distance is 5 - 8 miles with ~200ft elevation gain.
We will meet in the parking lot (see the map) and ride out to the trails together.

Mountain biking can be a dangerous sport, and learning new skills can be challenging. Always wear a helmet, bring plenty of water and if any part of the trail is above your ability and/or comfort zone it is okay to walk it.The ride is lead by Karen St.Germain.
- Black Mountain Intermediate RideBlack Mountain Ranch Park 1, San Diego, CA
Welcome to the Intermediate ride field trip to Black Mountain! We'll be doing a series of rides on the trails making up the Half Archipelago, consider signing up for the ride itself on May 3! (https://archride.sdmba.com/) This group is geared towards more experienced riders comfortable with their mountain bike on blue and (optional) black difficulty trails.
All participants need to complete the SDMBA waiver at least once every 6 months. SDMBA Waiver
This is a no-drop, intermediate paced ride around some of the best trails San Diego has to offer with time to work on some more advanced skills. The ride is from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, with frequent stops to evaluate and practice features and obstacles. Average distance is 5 - 15 miles with ~500-1500 ft elevation gain.We will meet at South Parking Lot of Black Mountain Ranch Park

## Details
We will be doing treadwork on the La Cima/Lucky 5 connector at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park/Anza Borrego Desert State Park. No experience necessary. Tasks will include digging, compacting, and contouring the trail to facilitate drainage and enhance sustainability.
Meeting location is at Pedro Fages Monument located on the north side of Sunrise Highway. See map below.

You are welcome to bring your bike/helmet etc, as we may be able to ride to the work areas although some is within walking distance of staging area. Also a great chance to do a ride after the work is done!

-Please note there is poison oak in the vicinity of where we will be working. It can be avoided, but if you are highly sensitive to it please let us know and we can make sure you are working in spots less likely to bring you into contact with it
-Must be 18 or over for this event
-Pets: While we love animals, we ask that you leave your pets at home.We appreciate your dedication and commitment to the trails!
