San Luis Obispo Board Games & Cal Poly Clocktower!

Hey everyone! Join us every Sunday from 1 to 5 PM at Old SLO BBQ in downtown SLO, specifically in their back room. They have a few games available, but feel free to bring any of your own to share or join in on a game someone else is leading. No worries if you're new to gaming; we welcome all skill levels and have a mix of games for everyone. For parking, to skip the fees in downtown, you can park for free on Pismo St near Emerson Park or Canterbury Shire, which is just a short 5-minute walk to the BBQ. Your host is Amy Gaffney from San Luis Obispo Board Games and Cal Poly Clocktower, along with SLO Friends and Fellowship for those in their 20s to 40s - Board Games & Beers @ Old SLO BBQ!

We are a weekly group meeting every Monday for people that want the opportunity to play a variety of tabletop games. It does not matter whether or not you have played a game as long as you have a willingness to learn, have fun, and be polite to others. Feel free to bring a game you would like to play or just show up and play what others have; we usually have plenty. We currently meet at Round Table Pizza and will either be in the main area at the back or in one of the two side rooms if they are available.

Captain Nemo's has open board game night in their game room from 4pm till 9pm; sometimes a few other people show up, and sometimes it is just a handful of our group that are there. Come on back—the entrance is in the back of the building to the south-west of the store.

A few additional details... There is parking available behind Captain Nemo/Cheep Thrills. The owners of the store have asked that we not park in the spaces adjacent to the game hall or in the three spaces directly to the left of the raised platform behind the game hall. Parking in reserved spaces is allowed after 5 pm. The game room (separate building) opens onto the parking lot (if you're in the parking lot facing the street, the building on the left of the main building is where you're going). If you get lost, go into Nemo's and ask them where the gaming hall is. Drinks/Snacks: There are vending machines available in the gaming hall. Feel free to bring your own food and drink into the hall. Alcohol is prohibited in the gaming hall. I have confirmed with the owner of Nemo's that we are allowed to use the bathroom in the store (during store hours). Several members of the group are able to check out the key to the game hall, allowing us to stay after the store has closed. Please be respectful of whoever has checked out the key and be ready to end your gaming when they are ready to leave. If you would like to be able to stay later, please see the store management about checking out the key yourself. Note: Not everyone can make the early start time; feel free to come by when you can, jump into a game or start a new one, and have fun!
