What we’re about
The Chiltern Hills offer beautiful vistas, valleys, woodlands, villages and other delights. As a result, these walks are always scenic and often idyllic. The walks replenish, inspire and nurture wellbeing. Currently, the walks are mostly in the North of the Chilterns. I'm James, and I've been leading walks since I was a child, so you're in good hands.
I'm also the author of Kissing Consciousness, a personal wellbeing book, so if you'd like to ask me about that you're more than welcome, and I may throw in a related event from time to time.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Monthly Conscious Living Group Night #6Holy Trinity Church Church Room , Potten End
This group is developing nicely and we're starting to have some very good evenings in which people are serving themselves well by caring to get more life out of their choices and self-awareness.
The opportunity to explore, feel and talk in a safe space is the basis of real value and benefit that we're now starting to see in our group nights.
This is underpinned by high skill and care hosting and the invaluable Kissing Consciousness model of Love Consciousness and Fear Consciousness, which - thanks to our two roller banner charts - we're now getting our teeth firmly into for unique insights and understanding.
The price for the evening is £5. If you haven't been before you can come for free as an introductory taster.
Please note that this is an ongoing group for people working in a safe space on their various goals and blocks.
Venue, Times and Free Parking
We have our own private meeting hall: the Church Room next door to Holy Trinity Church on Church Road in the village of Potten End, near Berkhamsted (see event photo). And we have use of the kitchen, so there will also be free tea and coffee.
We start 'properly' at 7:30pm but you're encouraged to arrive any time from 7:00pm to get settled, familiarise yourself with the material a little, which will be available in the room in many forms, and perhaps get refreshments if you wish.
At that time of evening that whole quiet road will be free for parking opposite. There's ample parking around.
What Do We Actually Do?
Mostly we sit in a semi-circle and talk, or listen while I talk, also breaking off into pairs to talk. We're creating an ongoing, consistent supportive group.
The Focus
The focus is increased quality of life, across many possibilities. Participants are invited to focus on their four primary areas of life: mind, body, relationships and prosperity, and what they might like to get out of them, and what may be preventing or blocking that?
Background
As you may know, I'm the author of Kissing Consciousness, a book about how to be fully true to yourself, and we started this monthly conscious living group - or rather, more specifically, we created this local Kissing Consciousness Group, based on the tools, teachings and principles of the book.
The book itself is actually a handbook for a conscious living movement.
What is Conscious Living?
The essence of conscious living is that you make choices for your life that are free from self-judgement and self-constriction, which are often residual negative impacts from school, society or family growing up, which form outright blockages to health, happiness and success.
Everyone has experienced a bit of self-constriction, to one degree or another. This group offers you support, community, coaching and facilitation for all of that.
In addition to the primary activity of removing mental and physiological blocks, we'll also explore what quality of life is possible far above that which conventional society currently realises:
- Deep, authentic and unselfconscious joy
- an ecstatic, liberated body
- blissful, harmonious relationships
- and fulfilled creative potential
Kissing Consciousness also provides clarity with regard to spirituality and wisdom. This is a different thing to removing blocks. A spiritual life doesn't immunize a person from their emotional, psychological and nervous system wounds.
A Safe Space Group
Please note that this is a safe space group.
The Advantages of Group Facilitation
Kissing Consciousness group facilitation can be a much more cost-effective and longer-lasting alternative to life coaching.
You could pay £100 or more for an hour's coaching, and that can help, but that outlay isn't sustainable ongoing for most people, month in, month out.
Please bring a pad and pen. Comfortable clothing is advised. All participants will get a Kinde or eBook version of the Kissing Consciousness handbook prior to the night.
FAQs
What's involved, how does it work?
It's mostly talk-based, with the odd gentle exercise. Will I get to choose what I do and what I don't do?
Yes. Choice is the guiding principle, so anything else would be contradictory. Can I just address one area of life?
Yes. Kissing Consciousness is flexible, and can weave between focussing on different topics and different levels of ability.More Info

Free Parking
There is plenty of free parking on the road alongside the village green, in side roads, and in a parking bay in front of the village hall. Please note that the pub would prefer that their own parking spaces are reserved for customers who have booked a table.Travelling from London / by Train
