This group is for women who love science fiction! I'm not sure how many of us there are in Ventura county... Maybe like 3? Idk... But if reading sci fi books and having deep discussions about the future, philosophy, technology, etc. sounds fun to you, let me know :) this is my first time hosting a group so if you have any tips / ideas about how to make book clubs fun let me know. Women all ages are welcome.

So excited to discuss our first sci-fi book ~ Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. Besides having one of the most beautiful book covers I have ever seen, Annihilation was also adapted into a very cool movie.
This is a pretty short book at about 50k words, and is estimated to take 3-4 hours to read. Here is a rough reading guideline week by week:
week of Jan 19 - Chapter 1 + first half Chapter 2
week of Jan 26 - second half Chapter 2 + Chapter 3
week of Feb 2 - Chapter 4
week of Feb 9 - Chapter 5Feel free to ask questions / add comments in the discussion section for this event as we read through the book!
