Hello Friends,
This is a group for women who are 50+ and live in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding areas. This is a social group, and we focus on being positive, having fun and making friendships. This is a member driven group. Any member can organize events or share an interest with the group. (Hiking, art, lunches, potlucks, book club, game nights, happy hours, etc.)
Pay membership fees under the Santa Cruz Women's 50+ Social Group Meetup membership dues portal, which takes credit cards.
RSVP PROTOCOL:
While we love to have you attend as many events as you would like, please DO NOT rsvp yes unless you're absolutely sure you're able to attend on the day of. Most of our events are small and we usually end up with a waitlist. We're not able to move wait listers to the yes RSVPs the day before the event.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: If you have not paid your $20 dues, the meetup platform automatically will remove your membership after the 30 day trial period. If you would like to be a part of the group, please "rejoin" and pay your dues.

Hello Friends,
Please join for an evening of live music and dancing at the Crow's Nest with a fabulous house band for Kissed by an Angel wines in Scott's Valley.
Redwood Groove Band will be playing at the Crow's Nest bar on April 24th from 8 to 11 pm.

We would love to support this local band with a fabulous female lead singer. (Think Barracuda). At least one of our members will be joining and is happy to greet you but with so many people we will make this a "non hosted" event but I am confident you will find each other through this sign up.
It's great to gather and support local musicians.

Please join me for this Learning and Dinner event at 1440 Multiversity!
On Friday, April 25, join us for an immersive 1440 Community Education Event & Discovery Dinner where you will gain knowledge to Take Control of Your Blood Sugar. Instructed by 1440 Adjunct Faculty member and Functional Medicine Clinician Darla Booth, DC, CMFC, you'll learn about the systemic influence of blood sugar regulation on our bodies - impacting not only our weight and body composition but also inflammation, sleep, stress and anxiety, tissue health, heart disease, hormone balance, and even dementia.
In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn about:
- The value of CGMs for monitoring and optimizing nutrition
- Understanding hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia
- The affects of blood sugar on inflammation
- Reducing stress and improving sleep
- How hormonal changes impact insulin resistance
- Demystifying GLP1s
- The importance of being strong over skinny
Following this educational session, join us in Kitchen Table where you will participate in a sustainable and locally sourced community dinner at as the 1440 Culinary Team shares their insights into our "food as medicine" philosophy regarding preparation and nutritional qualities of the ingredients locally grown and produced from our neighboring farming community.
1440 is a philanthropic campus, and each booking contributes to serving our community by providing scholarships and volunteer services in support of our vision: Creating hope for living well.
Time: 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Price: $75 per person, includes dinner at Kitchen Table
Class & Dinner Schedule:
- 4:00-4:30 p.m.: Arrivals and registration
- 4:30-6:00 p.m.: Take Control of Your Blood Sugar with 1440 Adjunct Faculty Member and Functional Medicine Clinician Dr. Darla Booth, DC, CFMC
- 6:00-7:00 p.m.: Dinner Education at Kitchen Table
- 7:00 p.m.: Departures
Dinner Menu:
Due to the seasonality of the sustainable ingredients we source from local farms, the Kitchen Table dinner menu will be available and posted approximately one week prior to the event date. A plant-based option is always available.Event Notes:
- The start time of the class is 4:30 p.m., and guests may check into campus up to 30 minutes before the class start to enjoy our Lodge Retail Shop, Bridge of Intentions and Common Grounds Patio. Please note that other locations of campus, including the trails and jacuzzi tub, are not available for Community Education Class guests due to other campus programming.
- 1440 will provide any equipment or props required for this class.
- Reusable water bottles are welcome -- filtered water stations are available throughout campus.
- Kitchen Table offers ample indoor and outdoor seating, including outdoor covered seating options.
- This is an 18-and-over event.
Cancellation Policy: Participants may request a refund up to 7 days before the event. After this period, all sales are final. All proceeds from Community Education Classes support our 1440 philanthropic and volunteer efforts.
