What we’re about
Concept:
This is a laid-back, virtual book club where members sip their favorite beverages and dive into reading together. It balances personal reading time with a shared discussion, creating a community of book lovers without pressure.
First Meeting Format:
- Introductions (10-15 minutes):
• Everyone briefly introduces themselves—name, favorite genres, what they’re sipping on, and maybe a recent book they loved.
• Example icebreaker: “If you could have a drink with any fictional character, who would it be?” - Silent Reading Session (20-30 minutes):
• The group picks a book ahead of time, and everyone reads silently to a designated chapter or page.
• Participants can sip their coffee, tea, wine, or mocktails as they read. - Discussion (20-30 minutes):
• Share thoughts about what was just read—favorite parts, questions, and impressions.
• The tone is casual, with room for tangents about related books, life, or even what people are drinking!
Ongoing Structure:
Future meetings might include:
• Rotating book selections (members vote on what to read next).
• Themed beverages inspired by the book (e.g., wine for a romance, tea for a historical novel).
• Occasional guest authors or themed events (like reading poetry or short stories).
Does that align with what you’re envisioning?
