What we’re about
Welcome to Sends With Friends, a rock climbing community!
We’re so glad to have you join our diverse and inclusive rock climbing community here in the DMV area. Whether you’re a seasoned climber or just starting your journey, you’ll find a supportive space where everyone is welcome to connect, learn, and send routes together.
About Us:
Sends With Friends is a minority-led community that brings together climbers of all cultural backgrounds and nationalities to foster a sense of belonging. We’re committed to making rock climbing accessible by reducing historical barriers that have limited access for migrants, refugees, expats, and locals. Together, we challenge these barriers while growing as mindful contributors to the broader climbing community.
What to Expect:
Climbing Events: We host regular meetups at indoor gyms and occasional outdoor events at local crags. Check the event calendar or our Instagram account (@sends_with_friends_climbing) to RSVP for anything that sparks your interest.
Community Guidelines: Safety first! Always follow proper climbing etiquette, use appropriate gear, and respect your fellow climbers.
Inclusivity: This is a space for everyone, regardless of experience level. Feel free to ask questions, share tips, and connect with others.
Since climbing comes with inherent risks, please understand that participation in events is at your own risk. We prioritize safety and clear communication between partners. Participation for each event requires reviewing our safety waiver posted on each event description before attending any of the events.
If you have any questions or need help getting started, don’t hesitate to reach out. We can’t wait to meet you at one of our events and climb some routes together!
Welcome to the community, and happy sending!
