Join us for a focused writing session designed for ALL writers. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting, this is your time to dive into your work without interruptions. And remember, you control who sees your writing—share it only if you want to!

Here's the plan: We'll kick things off with a warm welcome, and give you a chance to grab your favorite drink or snack and get your writing tools ready. Then, we'll introduce ourselves and get to know each other a bit. Once everyone is settled, we'll dive into our quiet and dedicated writing time.

This is a judgment-free zone. We don’t do critiques or readings during these sessions. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for all writers to focus on their craft. So, come ready to write and connect with fellow writers!

Details:
Shut Up & Write hosts free in-person and online writing events for writers all over the world. Our goal is to ensure that every writer, regardless of genre or skill level, has access to the community, accountability, and resources they need to be successful in their personal writing goals. Our events use our proven formula: a few minutes of introductions, an hour of focused writing, and a final check-in to share the hour's progress.

What to Expect:
RSVP and please arrive 10–15 minutes early (to 7:30) to get settled at an in-person event. Our host will lead introductions and then everyone will write for a quiet, focused period of time.

Afterward, we’ll have an optional time to chat and get to know each other. Members often talk about their successes and challenges as writers. Our events are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

7:30- Quick introductions/writing
~8:00‐ 5 minute break
8:30 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING starts at 7:00.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

What Should I Bring?
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want music or to block the occasional conversation by other patrons.

Join Anne from Shut Up & Write HQ for an hour of writing from the comfort of your own home. This is going to be a fun, peaceful hour of writing!

All writers and all experience levels are welcome and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This hour is about getting your writing done.

WHAT TO EXPECT
We’ll spend 5-10 minutes letting people settle in and share what they’re working on, then have an hour of focused writing before we stop and talk about what we've accomplished in the session. Then, stick around and chat for a bit, or feel free to head out.

WHAT DO I NEED?
A computer with a working camera and microphone, a good internet connection, and optionally, headphones.

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 6 pm. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
