What we’re about
Welcome to Seattle's original Silent Book Club!
Join us for an hour of reading with fellow book lovers a few times every month. There's no assigned reading--just bring whatever you're already reading (or whatever's at the top of your TBR!). All genres and reading formats (print, audiobooks, and e-readers) are welcome. There's lots of time after the reading hour to chat with fellow readers, swap book recommendations, and get inspired to read something new. Or, if you prefer to skip the chitchat, you can always "read and leave."
We start each meetup with quick intros: your name & pronouns, where in Seattle/area you're from, and what you're reading. These always spark post-reading-hour conversations and we love to see it! After reading, we almost always go for dinner or drinks nearby, and everyone is welcome to join!
Silent Book Club® is a global community of readers, with more than 1000 chapters in 50 countries around the world led by local volunteers. SBC members gather in public at bars, cafes, bookstores, libraries, and online to read together in quiet camaraderie. Learn more here.

We are thrilled to announce the return of Silent Book Club at the Cat Cafe! This event will be held at Cafe Meowtropolitan in Wallingford.
We’ve booked two hours for reading and hanging out with the cats, and the cost per person is $36.28. Admission is limited the first 16 folks who RSVP to the event, DM Dust with agreement to the waiver, *and* pay. However, you're welcome to join the waitlist if the event is full--folks' plans always change!
In order to attend:
- RSVP here in Meetup, and then send SBC Organizer Dust a direct message with an acknowledgement and agreement with the cafe's waiver (found at https://cdn.filestackcontent.com/tva0MsrSTby6uxm5et2a)
- Organizer Dust will send their payment destination via Meetup direct message when you RSVP for payment. $36.28 per attendee will need to be sent via one of the following methods:
- PayPal ("Friend/Family" to avoid fees!)
- Zelle
- Venmo Organizer Dani (Danielle Shull - @DanielleCarissa)
- (Be sure you can attend - we will not refund any fees, but you may sell and/or transfer your RSVP to anyone you wish on the waiting list, if, for whatever reason, you can't attend.)
- Admission is limited to the first 16 folks who RSVP to the event, DM Dust with agreement to the waiver, *and* pay, so if you do want to attend, you might want to act quickly.
- Attendance is, of course, at your own risk — we do not carry liability insurance for this group. If you're allergic, this is probably not a good event to attend.
Notes from the Cafe Meowtropolitan:

- Do not harass the cats. If they want to be left alone, leave them alone.
- Refrain from making loud noises and stressing them out.
- Do not feed the cats with outside food.
### Disclaimer:
- We reserve the right to refuse entry and service to anyone.
- If you do anything that is detrimental to the well-being of the cats, you will be removed.
- Cats can be volatile. We cannot perform animal mind-control, so be wary around them. If they show signs of aggression or discomfort, please do not agitate them further. Seattle Meowtropolitan is not liable if they lash out at you.
