What we’re about
Welcome to the Silver and 60+ Exploring New Things Meetup group! If you're looking to step out of your comfort zone, try new activities, and make new friends, then this is the group for you. From urban walks, to art exhibits, social lunches, coffees, learning photography, helping animal rescue organizations, to pre-arranged tours of facilities, we will expand our horizons together. Age is just a number, and we believe there is no limit to exploring new interests and opportunities. So come join us, meet like-minded individuals, and keep learning and growing with us. There is not a requirement to be single, married people may join us as well.
If you are interested, please join. We are a new group that was started on Sept. 5th, 2024. We have a few outings arranged, and there will be more coming soon with Fall approaching. If you would like to organize some events that interest you, OR if you are willing to be the select host of an event you are going to attend, please let me know and I can make you an assistant organizer. We are glad you are here! Let's have some fun.

•• There is a suggested donation of $3-5 per month that you can pay at the event or through the Fundraising Option. This is to cover the "Organizer" membership costs and if there is overage, it will go towards my time when Organizing the events. The per month setup allows you to attend multiple events in a month without having to pay membership/setup fee for each. And you don't pay for a month, if you don't attend in that month.

Offered the second Friday of each month, Fernbank After Dark presents a variety of unique after-hours experiences for grown-ups, including museum exhibits, live music, full bars, tapas menus, science demonstrations and more. Exclusively for ages 21 and over, Fernbank After Dark is a unique date night for couples, a great place to meet up with friends and a fun experience for travelers. Each month highlights a different science theme and features a variety of fun and immersive programming.

- • Arrive at 7pm.
- • We will meet inside the event area where the food and bar area is.
- • As far as the Walk Through the Woods for THE AGLOW experience, we will section into groups of 4 so that we can keep a safe eye on everyone. This is a public group of mostly people who do not know each other, so I hope this will make everyone feel safe. I'm open to suggestions for other ways. Message me if you have ideas.
- • Our portion of the event will be from 7-9pm. The event itself (Fernbank After Dark) ends at 11pm, AND the AGLOW ends at 10pm. You are welcome to stay as longer than our event portion. The evening has indoor exploring of exhibits that you may also want to visit.
