Let’s enjoy a spring hike to Heublein Tower. We’ll begin the hike from the Penwood State Park parking lot. After we cross Route 185 we’ll begin the hike on the blue blaze trail to the summit where Heublein Tower is located. It will be a 2 mile stretch with a steady climb to the summit. After enjoying the wonderful view we will take a lunch break in the picnic area overlooking the Farmington river. From there, we will continue the hike towards reservoir #6, then turn north for the return portion of the hike back to Penwood State Park. All in all, it will be a 5 mile hike.
Please assess your abilities for this 5 mile hike. This will not be a beginner hike and the pace will be steady.
Please bring a light snack or lunch and plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. There are porta potties at the beginning and at the summit. Please have appropriate hiking gear for a 5 mile hike. Depending on the weather bug spray may be a good option for potential ticks or mosquitoes.
No dogs or individuals under the age of 18. Remember, the hike will begin in the parking lot of Penwood State Park across the street from Heublein Tower. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
