Next Open Mic Night will be on Fri Jan 24th.

If enough interest we can arrange for a meal beforehand but currently just a meet up. If you arrive at 7pm you can meet others before the music starts at 8pm.

Freedom will be hosting the musicians as usual at The Stag in Flackwell Heath. Please come along and perform yourself if you are in the area and you are a musician or singer.

We are asking anyone who wishes to attend to definitely post a RSVP as others who have attended the same event can find your profile the day after the event to keep in touch with you.
Meet Up have changed their system where you can only see the profiles of those attending the day after the event if you also RSVP unless you have already previously attended the same event at some point. Expect this is a good idea as it feels like the club is more private where people who have not joined cannot see you in the group of where you are attending.

A lovely walk, starting at Maidensgrove Common ... a hamlet above the Stonor valley in the Chiltern Hills, with many grassy tracks that criss-cross this wonderful, scenic stretch of open land.

The nearest postcode for parking is RG9 6EX
Circular walk approx. 7 miles
There is free parking along the side of the common.

Nettlebed is a lovely village in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, with a wealth of charming, quaint buildings and delightful cottages.
Sleepy, attractive and peaceful, the village epitomises all that is best of the traditional English scene, with leafy lanes, a church from Norman times, thatched properties and pretty gardens.
It is on an ancient route through the Chiltern Hills, between Henley on Thames and Wallingford, which for centuries was part of a trunk route between London and Oxford.
It is the location of a 17th Century brick kiln, due to the rich supply of the clay suitable for brick making, that ran in a vein through the Chilterns.

The Cheese Shed, located at Nettlebed Creamery, welcomes walkers, families, dogs and anyone wanting to pop in for refreshments.
An organic farmhouse .. the cows are truly free range!
We can stop for cheese toasties, ice creams, cakes and hot drinks, or purchase organic award winning cheese, bread, honey from the farm shop.
We can stop here for around 30 minutes.
For anybody who would like to bring their own food and drinks, there is seating in the village.

At the end of the walk we can stop at a 16th-century public house called the Five Horseshoes at nearby upper Maidensgrove.

There is a £3 contribution towards meetup costs.

Martin is playing a gig with his band Don't Look Now at The Forresters in Maidenhead. They will be playing lots of great sing-a-long tunes plus a few of their own original songs from their latest album. They play Rock & Roll, Pop and Soul tunes.

There will be plenty of room for dancing & it's really easy to get to as it's just off the A404. Hope to see you there!

I'm afraid I've needed to close the event as the venue say we cannot reserve a table. I will arrive at 7.30pm with Morgan when Martin is setting up and he tells me it is empty then so I should be able to get a table at that time. Most of the tables are removed to make room for dancing.

There are other people coming from another club I have also joined so you won't see them on this Meet Up group but it means the numbers are already much higher than the 8 shown.
If you wish to add to the wait list you could still come along but I cannot promise that I'll be able to also reserve you a seat which is the only reason I've cut off with the numbers. We'll be there to meet you though if you ask the bar staff to point us out to you.
The managaress says there is a limited food menu offering hot dogs, burgers and chicken wings so best to eat before you come.
