Have you listened to a music concert in a piano shop? If the answer is no, you're in for a treat! Upcycle Piano Craft hosts monthly happy hour jazz music concerts in their showroom. FREE beverages and light snacks included (though make sure to tip the bartender - they take cash and Venmo).
The music starts at 4:30 and runs until around 6:30.

Around 6:30, when the music ends, we can head to Westport for some dinner. Great choices I can vouch for include Beer Kitchen or Jerusalem Cafe. (Feel free to make alternate suggestions in the discussion board for this event, or bring a suggestion to the event.) You are welcome to meet us for dinner around 6:30 if you can't make it to the show (check the discussion for the restaurant on the night of the event).

PARKING NOTE: Upcycle is on the east side of Main St, across from Westport Rd. There is parking on 40th St (south of Westport Rd) and there's a tiny parking area in front of the store that you can access from 40th St.

It's been a few months since our last visit to the OP Arboretum. Taxes are done. Flowers are in bloom. Birds are singing (maybe.) As before, we'll walk the trails and then have lunch indoors or outdoors at the LongHouse (on the grounds.)

Let's start out at the Environmental Education Center (building #12 on the map,) which is at the old (easternmost) public entrance and parking area. This is a smaller building than the LongHouse, so it might be easier for us to find one another there. We might begin our walk towards gardens #14-#17, where we might be more easily seen by stragglers.

Robleto investigates the moral and practical complexities of collecting and presenting a full accounting of our actions and what it means to be human. What signals the feeling of being in love, or the experience of going hungry or being at war? What is at stake in how we tell our stories?"

Immediately following the screening, Robleto joins Curators Kimberly Masteller (Nelson-Atkins), Jason Dean (Linda Hall Library), and Patricia Cecil (National WWI Museum and Memorial) for a discussion of his multi-year, multi-media exploration of this singular subject.
