This group is for beginning Photographers (just starting out) who want to learn how to take better photographs.
If you have a cell phone, point and shoot, mirrorless or dSLR camera but have no idea how to use it, this group is for you. We'll host photo walks, assignments, contests, education, events, and trips throughout the year. Learn about photography and have fun doing it. Join us on our next photo adventure!

Please note: If you've made money from photography this group is not for you. I am teaching the basics and anyone with the skills to make money from photography will likely be bored as most of our members are just learning about the craft.

Level up your photography in this 2 part course!
Part 1: Saturday, January 18, 2024 @ 6:30AM
Join us for sunrise as we walk, talk, and shoot! Learn from Professional Photographer and Educator, John D. Russell as we walk around Veteran's Park, The Redondo Beach Pier, and the Beach! We'll cover composition, exposure, lighting, perspective, and anything else you want to learn about!
Part 2: Monday, January 20, 2024 @ 7PM
The following Monday at 7 pm, join Professional Photographer and Educator, John D. Russell live and online in a small group setting as he reviews your favorite photos captured from the photo walk and shows you how to edit and level up your photography using Adobe Lightroom Classic.
• What to bring to the photo walk •
Water, camera, blank memory card(s), fresh batteries, a tripod (optional), and warm layers!
There are parking meters and ample parking around Veteran's Park. As always, we encourage you to carpool or ride your bike if possible.
• Important to know •
The cost of this 2-part photography course is $49 per person. You'll need to RSVP and pay your fee before arrival. You can send your payment to John D. Russell via paypal or venmo.
