What we’re about

OVERVIEW: Speediball is the brand new recently invented sport that focuses on speed, quickness, creativity, strategy and other skills. It is also a safe and relatively contact free sport that doesn't need much equipment; making it affordable and therefore accessible to all, and can be played by both genders and adults or kids of any age.

LOCATION AND CONTACT INFO: These mainly FREE events will mainly be held on one of the fields at the Inwood Soccer Complex at 640 Mission Blvd in Joliet which is close to Memorial Stadium and near the athletic epicenter of Joliet. Depending on the specific event they will start at 10 am or 12 pm noon and will not go longer than 2 hours. Please sign up, show up, and bring anyone you want! If you want to contact me for more info please feel free to message me on here or text me at the specific number I have set up to communicate about the sport: (815) 405 6531 and say it's about the game. You may also email me at KenyonWeber@ISFSpeediball.com.

WHO IS IT FOR: All people are welcome to join the group and come and watch the clinics and games as a way to learn the sport. However we are most looking for people willing to play who must be adults aged 18+, males or females, who are active and do some physical activities from time to time and enjoy sports. Eventually we will look to have official competitive leagues of the sport set up here around the Chicagoland area for both genders and all age groups. Those who participate in these events will have first chances to sign up for that upcoming leagues around the area.

THE GOAL: The goal is to see it grow it into a viable sport one day that is played officially in high schools and colleges all over the country and maybe even at the professional level in some years. As of now though the attempt is to launch it with games and clinics here in the local Chicagoland area, and get people interested. This event is for anyone to show up and participate through playing or watching in order to learn the sport. Even if you are not in the area feel free to join the group because I hope to expand the sport all over the country so it may be in your area soon!

WHAT TO BRING: So please show up and play, it's simple to learn, and maybe you'll love it, also invite and bring friends! Just show up with whatever you usually work out or play sports in: t-shirt, and shorts or sweats, and athletic shoes or cleats is fine. I also highly recommend you bring water, since the sport involves a lot of physical action.

HOW THE SPORT COMPARES TO OTHERS: The sport will be explained in more detail on gameday but here for now is a design of the sport as compared to other popular sports to get a good idea of it beforehand hand...

Speediball is like: Soccer with hands, Tag with props, Basketball with more speed and space, Handball with more freedom and options, Hockey on grass, Volleyball on a full field, Track with a ball, Rugby with more variety, Ultimate Frisbee with unlimited movement, Lacrosse without sticks or a net, Cross Country running gamified, Football with more action and less danger!
