Meet parking should be free after 6PM. Yay! shouldn't need to carpool.
We'll be starting from the meet location with a 17 min walk though Manitou to the trail head.
Event Description
Join us for a weekly night adventure with our Weekly Sunset Night Hikes in the beautiful surroundings of Colorado Springs! Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature as we explore scenic trails under the setting sun.
**This event is promoted across multiple platforms and groups. The more, the merrier!**
Details:- Location: Various trails around Colorado Springs, including Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, and Palmer Park, Cheyenne Canyon. I'll be there early and post a pin for the gathering spot in the event board.
- Time: Every Thursday, before sunset check event time (timing will be changing each week as sunset times change).
- Duration: Approximately 2 hours.
- Difficulty: Moderate - suitable for most fitness levels, but please ensure you are comfortable with moderate physical activity. I'll be wearing a weighted backpack on the easier hikes, just an idea if you are more fit.
- Communication: Via meetup app event board
What to Expect:
- Witness breathtaking sunset views and the transition of the landscape from day to night.
- Experience the serene ambiance of twilight and early evening.
- Opportunities to spot nocturnal wildlife and enjoy the peaceful nighttime sounds of nature.
- Members of other groups will be invited. As group size increases we may split before we start the hike.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable hiking shoes.
- A flashlight or headlamp (with extra batteries).glow sticks
- Water and snacks.
- A light jacket or sweater (evenings can be cool).
- Camera or smartphone for capturing the stunning sunset and night sky.
- Dogs are welcome but, check location rules for more info.
Safety and Guidelines:
- Please stay with a someone at all times for safety.
- Respect nature and follow Leave No Trace principles.
- Socialize and have fun, share the event and bring a friend
