What we’re about
Providing a safe space, support network, and empowerment opportunities for autistic adults. This group is NOT affiliated in any way with Autism Speaks. Includes outdoor adventures with animals and nature in an autism friendly environment. Interact at your comfort level. Friendship extended but talking not required. Diagnosed or self-diagnosed okay. Come as you are. This is a group where if you are not talkative, are very talkative, come late or leave early, no one will judge you.
Events are open to suggestions. Leave comments about something you enjoy doing or something you would like to do but haven't, or a place you would like to go with a supportive group of friends. Also, what days and times is everyone available?
Group meetings can begin at Blue Ridge Horse Adventures near small town Spruce Pine and then venture out from there. If coming to the ranch and you have allergies, don't forget to take your allergy medicine first. There are 5 horses, 2 ponies, 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 chickens.
Opportunities may include interactions with horses, cats, and dogs, quiet reading spots by the pond, hiking in the enchanted forest, hiking with ponies, creek exploration. Also business coaching for entrepreneurs and other neuro-divergent empowerment topics. All activities and interactions are optional. Future outings do not have to be limited to the ranch.
