What we’re about

If you enjoy stationery, journalling or any manner of analogue hobbies, then this group could be for you! Since March 2024, I have been organising a regular stationery meet-up with like-minded fellow enthusiasts. I have been particularly inspired by the proliferation of stationery / journal clubs that occur in Asia and the USA, and believe that there is no reason why we could not attempt to re-create our own as well. I am hopeful that a few of us can get together on a regular basis to explore the rabbit hole of analogue tools, and indulge in our simple doodling and dabbling as hobbyists. Another bonus from these meet-ups would be to make new memories and share screen-free moments away from our hectic daily activities. These meet-ups would also be an incredibly fun way to unwind, share our ideas and and even our sticker and stationery stash.
WHERE AND WHEN TO MEET? If this sounds like something you would be keen to get involved in, please join any of the meetups! I am in the St Albans (Hertfordshire) area, and we have been using the local St Albans Museum and Gallery courtroom café because it is spacious and the management is supportive of what we do: we usually aim to get together for 2 hours at least twice-monthly. Please purchase at least one drink during your visit to support the local business.
This is a low-commitment and relaxed group, as I want people to be able to drop in and out whenever their schedule permits. You are absolutely not required to attend every single session (but of course, I would love it if you can!). We have a different mix of regulars and non-regulars each time and it keeps things fresh and dynamic.
TL;DR: each session is non-didactic, we have absolutely no structure, we are not professionals in any way shape or form, and essentially there is never any plan! 😉 It's never too late to join in so please do come along to the next meet-up!
As of Feb 2025: In general, the second Sunday of every month will be devoted to stationery hobbies (journalling, colouring, writing etc) and the fourth Sunday of every month will be devoted to fibre crafts (sewing, crochet, knitting, embroidery, textiles etc). Of course, we understand the cross-pollination of these two hobbies, and you are more than welcome to work on any current project of either type in any of the sessions and we are not planning to be too strict about it! But this is so you are aware of what the general plan is going forward, so that you get an idea of what the majority of attendees will hope to be doing at these meetups.
Thank you for reading, Jasmin :)
