Step by Step Walking Group

When a 2016 Needs Assessment Survey indicated that Fargo residents were requesting more options for year round indoor recreation—with the #1 need being an indoor walking track—the Fargo Parks District went into planning mode.

Fast forward to June of this year when the new Fargo Parks Sports Center opened its doors to the public.

Amidst a very impressive list of features, including a turf field, two hockey rinks, eight hardwood courts, six pickleball courts, a weight room, numerous meeting rooms, the Sanford Sports Performance Facilities, walkers are excited about the elevated walking track that is free to the public.

That is where we come in.

Let's gather just inside the front doors of the Sports Center at 4:00pm on Sunday, November 3rd. After welcoming newcomers and catching up with each other, we'll get some of our steps in as we get a tour of the facility,

Then, we'll head to the walking track, do some stretches, and then we'll be off again! This part of the event will last 1 - 1.25 hours, followed by socializing in the Midco Lounge until just before the center closes at 6:00pm.

***As always, please wear a good pair of tennis shoes and bring a water bottle.***

***Note the change from our usual start time. With the Sports Center's closing time being 6:00pm, our meeting time was changed to 4:00pm for this event.***
