The distance from the Gap trailhead to the cave is about 2.5 miles each way with about 800 feet elevation change. The trail is of moderate to strenuous difficulty due to the steep, rocky sections.
We will take about 3 hours to do this, with a short break inside the cave.
The Scout Cave has a splendid vista looking over Red Mountain and Snow Canyon State Park.
