What we’re about
STHLM Outdoor (changed name from Stockholm Outdoor Enthusiasts) is a group for anyone that's interested in any kind of outdoor activity, whether it be hiking, climbing, mountain biking, mushroom picking, kayaking, camping or just plain forest walking etc. etc.. All skill levels are more than welcome. The group started as a way to meet other outdoor enthusiasts, experience together, learn from each other and to have a great time and that is the goal forward too!
Experienced people in a certain activity are very welcome to be hosting events. The goal is to have several events every week for people to attend, from bouldering to ice skating. Looking forward to exploring the outdoors with everybody!
We're trying out a new platform, sign up here if interested: https://stockholm-events.nu/@sthlm_outdoor

See all- Remote Island Overnight Hike on Jungfruskär 🏕️ 🌊Link visible for attendees
Jungfruskär and the surrounding rocky islets are one of those hidden corners of the archipelago that few ever reach, unless you have your own boat. Remote and wild, the northern part of the area is completely off-limits during summer to protect nesting birds, leaving it more untouched than almost anywhere else in the region. Jungfruskär also borders the newly established Nämdöskärgården National Park.
As an added bonus, because there isn't a regular boat connection to the island, we'll get our own taxi boat between Nämndö and Jungfruskär (for a very decent price).
Approximate hiking distance: 15-20 km over two days
Difficulty: Be prepared for off-trail on rocks. Make sure you have good shoes and a good sense of balance. Don't pack too heavy.
The plan
On the first day, we'll be picked up on Nämndö and driven to Jungruskär's taxi boat jetty. Once there, we'll hike around the island, and aim for the northern part of the island, following the coastline. We'll set up camp with a good view of the horizon. On Sunday, we'll explore the island a bit more until we get picked up at the jetty.Note that the island is rocky, and tent ground may be rocky too. A self-standing tent is the best option.
Costs
To join the event you need to swish 250 SEK for the two taxi boat journeys immediately upon registration. Payment is required to secure your spot in the event. You will get payment instructions once signing up.If you hold a 30-day SL travel card or one valid for a longer period, the rest of the journey is free with Waxholmsbolaget due to the low season.
Water
There should be a couple of water taps on the island, but bring enough water to be on the safe side.Where to meet
Let’s meet in line or onboard the ferry in Saltsjöbaden Färjeterminal at 10:00 when it departs.Getting there
The journey begins at Saltsjöbaden, with ferry nr 17 towards Stavsnäs via Nämndö departing at 10:00. We'll get off at Ekholmen, where we'll be picked up by a taxi boat at 11:30.Getting back
