Overview:
Join us for an engaging session at STL Ruby! This meetup, "Developing with AI Show and Tell," is designed to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming software development and what it means for developers in the coming years. Whether you're an experienced developer or just starting out, you're welcome to learn, network, and contribute your own AI experiences and insights.
Agenda:
- Networking & Registration: 6:30 PM – Kick off with introductions and light refreshments.
- Welcome & Announcements: 6:45 PM – Brief updates and introducing our format for the evening.
- Main Talk: 7:00 PM – Chris Zempel presents "Beyond the first prompt: AI Meta-analysis" to establish a common language for our discussions.
- Lightning Talks & Open Discussion: 7:20 PM – Share your AI workflows, experiences, techniques, and learnings. Bring your examples of:
- Deep research prompt expansion
- Innovative Claude prompts
- AI applications in your Ruby projects
- Any AI tools that have enhanced your development process
- Wrap-Up & Additional Networking: 7:50 PM – Closing remarks and continued discussions.
Speaker Bio:
Chris Zempel is a Senior Software Developer at Aha!
He will be sharing insights on AI terminology to help establish a common framework for our discussions throughout the evening.

- If you'd like to share during the "show and tell" portion, please bring your laptop or send your materials in advance to Matt Ruzicka or Chris Zempel.
- Any format is welcome for sharing – slides, live demos, or informal discussion about your experiences.
- While the meetup generally attracts experienced developers, newcomers are always welcome! We ruby folk are a friendly crew.
- Conversation topics will include the future of software development and AI applications specific to Ruby.
