Meetup party people in Stockholm:
We need to move outdoors and we need to start early! :)
As you can see in the picture, the Vitabergsparken park has a long tradition of "bring your own drinks and snacks". If the weather is cold we though need to be standing on our feet and mingle around to keep warm. Bring whatever you want to drink yourself, and of course what you want to invite others. Sharing is caring, I'm sure there will be someone who brought a beer for you if you come empty handed. :)
Make sure you bring clothes so that you hold for the night. Bring an umbrella if it's raining, a warm drink if it's really cold, or maybe something really strong to keep you warm (hehe). Music is allowed in the park so you can bring a Bluetooth speaker too. Park party pros just bring a backpack full of party tricks and food for later too!
The meetup spot is right on the flat part of the grass lawn behind a big triple trash bin in yellow, orange and green, simply from where the picture above is taken. There will be nobody who clean up after us so please use the trash bins with all your used packages. Recycling bottles can be put beside the bins while there are always people who pick them up later.
Also spread the word. Of course you can bring your friends, even if they haven't got a meetup account. This is a free outdoors event. If you want to organize or rig stuff like a grill party with food and drinks or bring a party tent or whatever, feel free!
If you are first at the site, just relax and idle for a while scrolling your phone or something. Ask people wandering around if they are there for the meetup, and stick to the described location so that people can find you. Suggesting a different location only creates confusion about where the meetup is at so please don't. It is also a delusion of grandeur alerting everyone at a party with "I will be late". Also it is generally a better idea to describe yourself in the chat/comments so that others can find you rather than posting a desperate cry of loneliness. Just be at the right place at the right time instead of running around and I'm sure you won't miss the party. Sorry about putting up a list of boring rules here but these mistakes seems to happen every week. It is also a creepy behaviour to send private messages to other participants without getting an agreement to it in-person first. We have had problems with such stalkers on the meetup platform but please just ignore them and join the majority of well-mannered folks at the party instead! If you have been with us before and already know all of this, it is indeed appreciated if you register in advance, show up on time, and spend the first nervous moments welcoming newcomers, especially if you want to keep coming to this meetup over and over again. Creating a warm and friendly atmosphere is key. There will always be people who show up late and unregistered, and remember that you are always welcome even if you do. We can all have a 'bad hair day' and there is always a chance to make up for it next time. You are always welcome, no matter in what condition :)
We have been from 10 to a 100 people at the meetup, all depending on Thor, Odin and Aoron's will. We simply drink and mingle around in the park for as long as people want to stay. This event has been up running on Saturdays since a long time now and we have been partying in harsh midwinter snow storms, so no bad weather will ever stop us!! Remember that your party god is always with you, just smile to the sky and say cheers! :) (and do post a video of it in the event chat/comments...)
See you all on Saturday at 16.00!
