Welcome to Suncoast Nature Society! We are a 20s/30s community based around Sarasota & Bradenton who share a love for nature and outdoor activities. Our events foster an appreciation for the natural world and strengthen our local community by providing opportunities to build new friendships and relationships.

What We Do
We organize a diverse range of activities to cater to different interests and provide exciting opportunities to connect with nature and fellow enthusiasts. Our events include:
- Socialize: Connect with local nature enthusiasts in your age range, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. These gatherings offer a refreshing alternative to conventional nightlife, allowing you to meet others who share your passion for nature and outdoor adventures.
- Nature Walks: Embark on group walks through our local trails and state parks, identifying local flora and fauna and discussing their ecological roles.
- Stargazing Adventures: Explore the night sky with telescopes and guides, uncovering the mysteries of constellations and celestial events.
- Fossil Hunting Expeditions: Unearth ancient treasures on trips to local geological sites, learning about the history and science of fossils.
- Natural Springs Exploration: Discover unique ecosystems and geological formations while enjoying a refreshing dip in crystal-clear waters.
- Snorkeling Excursions: Dive into underwater adventures, exploring vibrant marine life and learning about ocean conservation.
- Community Volunteering: Join forces with local organizations for beach cleanups, tree planting, and other impactful community service projects.
- Fishing Trips: Cast a line in local waters, practicing sustainable fishing and appreciating the serenity of nature.
- Kayaking Journeys: Paddle through scenic waterways, discovering aquatic ecosystems and observing wildlife up close.

- Camping: Experience the great outdoors on overnight camping trips, complete with hiking, stargazing, and campfire stories.
- Horseback Riding: Traverse nature trails on horseback, enjoying the landscape from a unique vantage point and learning basic riding skills.

VIP Program
Our VIP Program offers exclusive perks like special distance trips, private parties, singles events, and more! To become a VIP, simply attend 10 events and your attendance will be recorded automatically! Want to fast-track your status? Use our Recruit a Friend program—any friend's first event will count toward your 10! Just message me on Meetup with their name or add a "guest" to your events so I can track it. Stay tuned for monthly updates on new VIP members!

A Note on Inclement Weather
Florida’s weather can be quite unpredictable! While we’ll do our best to provide updates on event pages if we anticipate changes, please keep in mind that rain is always a possibility. If the rain is light and expected to pass quickly, we'll usually proceed with the event as planned. However, if the weather becomes too challenging, we may relocate to a nearby restaurant to keep the fun going!

Paddle Adventure in Lido Key Mangroves: Join us for an easy paddle adventure! Connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts in their 20s and 30s and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife while exploring the local waters. These waterways often have manatees, stingrays, herons, ospreys and many other local wildlife.
This is a short trek through the Lido Key Mangroves.
Total route will be 2 to 3 miles round trip.Optionally, for those who wish to mingle afterwards and grab a bite join us at Daquiri Deck.

- Time: 10AM to 12ish (or until later you join lunch)

About the Event:
- Paddling: Beginners and experienced welcome! Bring your kayak or paddle board, or if you don't have one, you can rent one locally but do so in advance to ensure you get one.
- Rentals: **If you do not have a kayak or paddle board, you may rent one via Kayaking SRQ at Lido to reserve a rental. Their rates are below, including taxes:
$50 for Single Kayak
$70 for Tandem Kayak
$55 for Standup PaddleboardWhat to Bring:
- Small backpack (dry bag is ideal)
- Water or camel pack
- Life jacket (if you don't have one, you can use one with your rental)
- Snacks
- Sunglasses
- Sun Hat
- Light clothes, SPF 30+
What to Expect:
- Make new friends

- Relaxing atmosphere
