What we’re about
Are you a lover of books, lively conversation, and cosy pubs?
At the Surbiton Literary Salon, we believe that great stories spark even greater conversations. Whether you're a seasoned bibliophile or just looking for a friendly space to make new connections, our monthly book club welcomes everyone who loves a good read. We explore a diverse range of genres—from contemporary fiction to timeless classics—and enjoy the vibrant discussions that follow.
Who We Are
Organisers Anna and Allan are friends and proud Surbiton residents whose passion for discussing the magic of books led them to create the Surbiton Literary Salon—a warm, welcoming space where fellow bibliophiles can come together, share insights, and forge new friendships. With genuine warmth and a deep commitment to celebrating reading, Anna and Allan invite you to join us in turning pages and sparking conversations in the heart of our community.
Where & When
Our monthly book club meetings take place at the cosy and characterful Victoria pub in Surbiton. With its relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, share insights, and meet fellow book enthusiasts.
We meet once a month—check our schedule for dates and times! Each month, we select a book to read ahead of our meeting. Our sessions typically kick off with brief introductions, followed by engaging discussion with plenty of opportunity to share your thoughts or to just sit back and listen. Don’t worry if you haven’t finished every page—the focus is on sharing perspectives and enjoying the conversation.
