What we’re about
This Meetup introduces prospective riders to the SWAMP mtb club, a community of off-road cycling enthusiasts of all skill levels and experience, sharing in the fun and excitement of mountain biking. We promote and advance our sport by uniting riders in a social environment that fosters camaraderie and the ability to improve our skills thru information sharing.
In the social arena, Swamp hosts 5-6 weekly rides rotating thru five local bike parks. Additionally, we offer twice monthly urban assaults, and out-of- state vacation trips. We have 25 years experience in having fun on a bike, so check out our web site - swampmtbclub.com
To join us for a ride, check out our ride calendar. You will need a bike, helmet and hydration.

The city of Chattanooga is known for being a bicycling destination. In addition to numerous fine trail systems, there are dozens of great restaurants, several parks, the aquarium, a farmer's market, and public art exhibits to explore. You could easily take time after any morning’s ride and tour the town from your bike.
You will need to make your own lodging arrangements. You can camp, choose a motel, or rent a VRBO or AirB&B to share with friends. Lodging is never a problem in Chattanooga. We suggest securing an AirB&B or VRBO in the Northshore, North Chattanooga or Hill City area just north of Renaissance Park and Coolidge Park. There are plentiful 2, 3 and 4 bedroom units here that are walking distance to a plethora of restaurants and pubs along the river. We suggest these areas to keep people close together to facilitate socializing after rides and carpooling to trails and dinner. You will have choices. And you are welcome to join us for the entire trip or just a portion.
If you are looking to share, or already have lodging and are looking for roommates, please contact me (Christina Povenmire) at chrispov22@gmail.com! Sharing a house lowers costs and is more fun! We recommend making lodging arrangements early since May is the season of 70° days and cool nights, perfect for most any outdoor activities. Check-in on Saturday, checkout on Friday or whatever dates work for you.
Swamp will provide suggestions for trails, restaurants, and micro-breweries. There is easily five days of intermediate level riding, and the urban riverside trail is always an after ride treat. On a typical day, it will be breakfast wherever you are staying, perhaps lunch on the trail, and then we get together for dinner. After rides, we gather at a lodge where we can socialize and recount the days adventure.
