A storytelling show at the Old Stables at The White Hart, Cricklade.
Tavern Yard Tales is an evening of storytelling inspired by the stories from Dave Tonge's book, Tudor Folk Tales - Stories shared in tavern yards, on market places and anywhere else that folk gathered together long ago. Sad stories and silly stories and yet still they tell us much of our ancestors ideas and beliefs, woes and worries, dreams and desires. Dreams and desires that were not that very different to our own.
Elizabeth I was Queen of England when The White Hart first opened its doors. The Old Stables is located around the back, accessed through the big oak black courtyard doors off the high street. It was used as a skittle alley since the early 20th century and very occasionally opens its doors for events.
Doors open for the event at 7.00pm, please be seated by 7.20pm. There will be an interval. You can purchase drinks in The White Hart and bring them through to The Old Stables venue located around the back.
We will also be taking donations for Swindon Hardship Fund.
Tickets £9. More information and buy your ticket directly here:
