The goal is also to show added value of data-driven decision making to Swiss companies. Allowing analytics practitioners to exchange ideas and experiences is a key objective. Learn more about these capabilities and how they can help you to build trustworthy AI systems.Bio: Tamara Fischer, a graduate statistician, has been working for many years in the role of Principal Solutions Architect, Analytics, at SAS in the DACH region. In this role she has implemented solutions along the entire analytical life cycle from model development to model deployment. Currently she works in an international team consisting of data scientists who take care for the EMEA region. Her work comprises all analytical aspects with a focus on operationalizing analytical use cases and responsible AI.
Talk #2 - The paradoxes of Generative AI (Gaétan Hervé, insurance sector)
Bio: Gaétan Hervé has been working on analytics and data science field for the last 20 years. At a time when this was still call business intelligence and data mining, he had the opportunity to leverage information in many industries (medical, insurance, jewellery, security, retail, proptech) to drive performance and better insight on business. Today he is in charge of bringing concrete applications of generative artificial intelligence into the insurance processes at Vaudoise Assurance and make it work with data assets of the company (documents, data, "traditional" AI). Facing challenges like working in an ever changing environment together while transforming the way of working using agile philosophy, his motivation comes from the way usage of artificial intelligence can transform the way services are provided to customers and ease their daily life. He likes to share his passion through participation in events and coaching students at EPFL.
Talk #3 - Examples of interpretable machine learning (Radhakrishna Achanta, Deep Learning Tech Lead, Cisco)
Bio: Radhakrishna Achanta (RK) has a PhD from EPFL and an MSc from National University of Singapore. He has over 20 years of experience in academia and in the industry, including startups. His domains of expertise are Computer Vision, Image Processing, and Machine Learning. He has authored over 60 refereed publications and patents, which have over 22'000 citations. He has co-rounded 4 start-ups in different domains. He has supervised students at all levels including 3 PhD candidates. He has lived in 3 countries and can speak 4 languages fluently. He hikes and plays badminton in his free time.
