What we’re about
If you've felt isolated from or even cast out of the church for being gay or same-sex attracted, despite upholding a historic belief on sexuality and marriage, we have a spot for you at our table...
TABLE is an interdenominational men’s group meeting locally in Asheville twice monthly to live out our personal intersections with faith and sexuality in a safe, welcoming, and authentic environment. Those welcome to join us are: any male follower of Jesus (age 18+) who experiences same-sex attraction or otherwise identifies as same-sex attracted (SSA) or gay or queer or what have you, whether single or dating/married to a woman, and shares our common conviction on sexuality and marriage.
An acknowledgement of one's sexual orientation while also pursuing a historic sexual/marriage ethic is increasingly regarded as a "Side B" theology, as opposed to a "Side A" or affirming theology. We love our affirming friends, but Table is meant to be something of a support group or refuge for those with these shared convictions.

We gather at a church in East Asheville from 7-8:30pm on the second Tuesday of the month to check in with one another and share in a topical discussion. Sometimes we read books, sometimes we discuss and practice spiritual disciplines, and sometimes we dive into Scripture stories like David and Jonathan!

We also gather somewhere else at 7pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month to eat together, play together, catch a movie together, and otherwise share more of the recreational side of life together.
Additionally, we keep in touch throughout the month via a group text. We also rotate members to match up with one another once a month to connect individually beyond our communal gatherings. Usually an intentional time to grab coffee or a meal!
Shoot me (Tom) a message if you'd like to learn more about our group and the greater Side B world! I'd love to learn your story and meet you. I run the website Your Other Brothers as its full-time editor and community leader. YOB has a blog and podcast, along with a virtual community of 200 men supporting men and following Jesus around the world!
Join us at our table.
Some other "Side B" resources we recommend: Revoice conferences, and authors Wesley Hill, Gregory Coles, and Harrison Bly.
