Tampa (Citrus Park Area) Games Meetup Group

National Hanging Out Day - Game Night - - What a great day to “Hang Out” and come spend an evening playing games! On April 19 – NOTE: we are returning to our main location at Winners Sports Grill.
Deb has been hosting a game night in New Port Richey for several years, but moving forward, we both wanted to drive a bit less, so we started a local group. In our two events, a core group of attendees has already formed; thanks to all who attended and gave us a chance! In New Port Richey, We often had 20-30 people attend. So far, we've had 16 & 10 attendees, which has been nice, and we must limit our group to 30 people at our locations. Please RSVP for staffing and also because of the room size limitations. We are not a D&D game group. However, we play a variety of card and board games, such as various trivia games, Uno, Yahtzee, 3Up/3Down, Deer in the Headlights, Sorry, Ticket to Ride, Rummikub, and Sequence, just for starters. At our inaugural Game Night, I played Uno, 3Up – 3Down, and Letter Pool (for the first time). I saw Apples to Apples Exploding Kittens being played at other tables. At our second event, we played Just One and Deer in the Headlights as an entire group, so come out and see what we play next!
Adults of all ages are welcome, including those married, single, young & old. Please remember that Winners Sports Grill is not charging us to allow us to play there. Please consider thanking them by buying something to eat or drink while there. And, of course, remember to tip our server(s). (Also, to avoid confusion, please pay the server, not other restaurant personnel, thanks!) With this still being a new group and a completely new restaurant unfamiliar to us, we ask everyone to be patient with the server(s) and service; hopefully, if there are any bumps, we can iron them out in future events here! So far, they've done a good job with minimal problems. Everyone will enjoy dinner from about 4:45pm until about 6:00pm or until everyone is finished. The game playing will start after everyone eats. We will play until about 10pm (the restaurant closes at 11), but come and go whenever you want. We will always try to fit you into whatever is being played.
This Game Night outing will be at the Winners Sports Grill in the shopping center @ Hutchison & Ehrlich @ 5229 Ehrlich Rd, Tampa, behind/next to the cleaners. Please do NOT utilize the Meet-Up map location of Winners Sports Gill on Gunn Hwy, as they moved several years ago! I've contacted Meet-up, asking them to correct this so we don't have this unnecessary confusion. They are located at the corner of Hutchison Rd & Ehrlich Rd, 5229 Ehrlich Rd, Tampa, FL. Using Veterans Expressway, you can get off at either Hutchison Rd (Exit 12, then South) or Ehrlich Rd (Exit 10, then East) exits. If you tend to get cold, please bring a sweater or jacket, although we were very comfortable when checking out the restaurant. After our first group meeting, several of us, including myself, felt the room become warm, so we are bringing a small fan to help with this in the future. The second night, some were warm, others colder, so it was more in the middle temperature-wise.
After dinner, we will likely break into smaller groups to play games. Last but not least, because we all have a variety of political opinions and backgrounds, let us all steer clear of political conversations so everyone can have a great time!

Saturday, May 3rd is 'National Two Different Colored Shoes Day' – and while that might sound silly, it’s a great reminder that sometimes the best memories are made when things aren’t perfectly coordinated! So don’t worry if your socks don’t match – come hang out with us for a relaxed evening full of fun, laughter, and board games.
We are continuing to build something special right here in the Tampa area. Many of you know Deb has hosted a popular Game Night in New Port Richey for years – and while that group is still going strong, we’re excited to grow this new group closer to home. With a few months under our belt, it's really starting to feel like we’re creating something fun and welcoming right here.
Game Night will be held again at the front room of Winners Sports Grill – 5229 Ehrlich Rd, Tampa, FL – in the shopping center at Hutchison & Ehrlich, next to/behind the dry cleaners. Please make sure you do NOT follow the outdated Meet-Up map location for Winners Grill on Gunn Hwy – they moved years ago, and I’ve asked Meet-Up to correct this multiple times (they’re slow!).
We’ll be arriving a little before dinner, with dining planned from about 4:45 PM until around 6:00 PM, or whenever everyone finishes eating. Game playing will begin once folks have had a chance to eat. You’re welcome to arrive earlier, come late, or leave whenever you like — we usually play until about 9:30-10:00 PM when the restaurant closes.
We’re not a D&D or heavy strategy game group. We tend to focus on fun, lighter games — past nights have included things like Uno, Yahtzee, 3Up/3Down, trivia-style games, Sorry, Rummikub, Ticket to Ride, Sequence, Apples to Apples, Exploding Kittens, and more. Feel free to bring a game you love (ideally something that works with 3+ players).

The restaurant is kind enough to let us use the front room at no cost, so please consider buying food or drinks while you’re there, and don’t forget to tip your server(s). The service has been good, but it’s a new setup for them too, so let’s be patient if any hiccups arise. If you tend to get chilly, you might bring a sweater; or, if we get a large crowd, it might warm up a bit — we do bring a small fan just in case.
As always, let’s keep things fun and welcoming by avoiding political conversations — we’ve got enough variety in personalities that it’s best to keep things light so everyone can relax and enjoy.
