Hi, a very warm welcome to the Teignmouth and District Social Meet-up Group for everyone aged 50 and above. If you are looking to meet-up, make new friends and have fun then you’re in the right place! The group is free to join.
As the group has now expanded to 200 members we are only accepting people who live in the following postcodes:-
EX1 to EX9 and TQ1 to TQ14
Bit about me….I’m Trevor and have lived in Teignmouth for the last 20 years. Now semi retired working three days a week. I’m looking to make new friends in the area and enhance my social life. I have been a member of meet-up groups attending and organising over 130 events.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU READ ALL OF THE NOTES BELOW BEFORE JOINING THE GROUP
The group is not a dating site, singles and couples are welcome to join. I do understand that relationships may evolve between members which is great but the purpose of the group is for friendship and companionship.
Events that we will be hosting all year round include walks (doggies welcome) National trust visits, dining (restaurants, pub lunches, picnics etc) visits to attractions, live music, dancing, cinema, theatre, bowling, crazy golf, sporting events, horse racing, quiz nights, boat trips, sea fishing (my passion) weekends away and many more!
As I’m semi retired I will need helpers so why not become an organiser and host your own events within the group? I will always welcome ideas from members for new events.
I do understand that it can be daunting attending an event for the first time, rest assured you will be warmly welcomed by me and other members and I’m happy to meet you prior to the event if you wish?

Anyone aged 50 plus are eligible to join.
Membership of the group is free, you only pay for events that you attend. I pay a monthly subscription to the meet-up organisation for hosting the group.
When joining the group please put your name and a photo of yourself on your profile so we can all recognise you.
Everyone is responsible for their own health and safety when attending events as well as your own dogs when applicable.
All organisers are holding events for friends and do so voluntarily. I have no qualifications or liability insurance.
YOU ATTEND ALL EVENTS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
All members of the group and staff at event venues need to be treated with respect and kindness. Unacceptable/inconsiderate behaviour, inappropriate messaging, racism, sexism, ageism, extremist views or gossiping will not be tolerated! Anyone breaking these rules will have their membership withdrawn.
Always change your RSVP if you can no longer attend an event. Members who persistently sign up for events and then withdraw will have their membership withdrawn. Three no shows without changing your RSVP will also result in your membership being withdrawn.
Members not attending any events for a period of three months will have their membership withdrawn. This group is for people who want to meet-up, have fun and make new friends.
For some of the events a deposit may be required by the venue, organisers will collect this by bank transfer.
