See all- Death in ArizonaTempe Public Library, Tempe, AZ
Arizona is known for its harsh, beautiful, and unique environment, but beneath this surface the individuals that have helped to shape our state have their own stories to tell. The murder at the OK Corral, an infamous murderess, and many more tales of death and murder have made national stories, but what about the lesser known? Discover how you can utilize the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records to find the stories of historical Arizonans and possibly even your own ancestors!
This event is part of our One Tempe One Book series of programs focusing on the topic of death. Learn more here.
- Death Positivity Movement SessionTempe Public Library, Tempe, AZ
Join Ellen Sickenberger as she leads a movement class that highlights themes of death positivity and physicality. Get connected to your physical form and to those around you as we travel through a guided free-movement session. We will explore weight sharing and weight shifting as we gain a deeper understanding of our own physical bodies, how to fully release, and how to easily carry and handle other physical bodies that are motionless.
This class is for adults of any level and welcomes beginners. Wear: Socks (or sneakers if you're more comfortable in shoes) and clothes you feel comfortable moving/sweating in. Bring water.
