We’re delighted to welcome from London the phenomenal vocal talent of Sumudu Jayatilaka in ‘A Celebration of Songwriters’.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist renowned for her versatility in jazz, pop and soul, Sumudu is currently on tour with Jools Holland, has worked with Sting, Sir Van Morrison Dionne Warwick, has performed for Her Majesty The Queen and very recently enjoyed10 day run of sold out shows at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. She is also a highly sought after session singer and regularly records at both Abbey Road and Air Studios, appearing on numerous film and TV soundtracks.

The show sees her tell stories of and pay tribute to some of her favourite songwriters who have inspired her career - from Harold Arlen, Stevie Wonder and Carole King to The Carpenters, Lennon & McCartney, James Taylor and many others. Sumudu is joined by Rob Updegraff (Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum) on guitar and Spencer Brown (Rebecca Fergusson) on double bass. A show not to be missed!
